<br />3.01 EXAMINATIONS: <br />A. Conformance Testing <br />2 <br />3. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION: <br />Geogrid manufacturer shall supply samples of geogrid to CQA ENGINEER <br />for conformance testing. Unless otherwise specified, samples shall be <br />taken at a rate of one per lot, not to exceed one conformance test per <br />100,000 square feet of geogrid. <br />For geogrid, the following tests shall be performed using the procedures <br />listed in Exhibit C: <br />a. Mass per unit area <br />b. Aperture size <br />c. Wide strip tensile strength <br />d. Node strength <br />Geogrid shall be rejected if conformance test results do not meet or <br />exceed the values presented in Table 2.01. <br />A. Geogrid Deployment <br />1. No equipment or tools shall damage the geogrid by handling, trafficking, or <br />other means. <br />2. No personnel working on the geogrid shaft smoke, wear damaging shoes <br />or engage in other activities that could damage the geogrid. <br />3. On slopes, the geogrid shall be securely anchored and then rolled down <br />the slope in such a manner as to continually keep the sheet in tension. <br />4. Geogrid panels shall be deployed in such a manner as to preclude wrinkles <br />and folds. <br />5. Geogrid within the lined area shall be cut with a cutter approved by the <br />OWNER, such as scissors. Unshielded razor knives are not acceptable. <br />6. Two layers of geogrid shall be installed as indicated on the Drawings. The <br />layers will be placed ai right angles to each other as directed by the <br />ENGINEER. <br />7. The subgrade shall be prepared for geogrid placement by uniform grading. <br />No steep grade changes or edges shall be allowed. The ENGINEER shall <br />approve the subgrade prior to geogrid installation.
