To: Boulder County Land Use Department
Cc: Chris Toebe, Staff Planner
Addr.: 2045 13`h Street- (13'h and Spruce Street)
Boulder, Colo -80302 -- _
Deaz Boulder County (Chris Toebe),
This letter is a response to the Docket Application SU-99-04 filed from Neil and
Judy Sprague (Owner's of the Arkins Park Stone Corporation). I have talked with the
Sprague's on their future plan for expansion on their quarry and [have no problem with
their permit application. I discussed with them about my future plans to build a house on
my own properly and to where they expect to mine. At this time there is no expected
conflicts between where they plan on mining and where my future building location will
be. It is still over 200ft. from my planned proposed site and where they plan on mining.
One of their concerns was what I thinl: about their blasting. Blasting on a quarry
is done with a lo~v frequency explosive which is just supposed to loosen the rock on the
surface. This should not have any implications With my well or foundation as long as it is
not done in excessive amounts. I'm under the impression the individual responsible for
their blasting probably knows the implications of the job. Since I am the closest neighbor
to them, I would probably be the one most concerned.
'T'hank you.
K~eit}h~Shanahan
~~"'' ~~
