the State clarifying that they have no intention of doing any reclamation until after they are
finished with their quarrying beyond the year 2049.
If they are permitted) to quarry for fifty years without reclamation, they will leave a 60-acre
gaping hole in Steamboat Valley where the slopes, conveniently for the company, will be
too steep to reseed. or replant, and the holes will be too deep to fill with soil. lt,
convenrenrly, will be too late.
Based on the vague, incomplete, and inaccurate information in the applications, it is clear
that if Arkins Park Stone is allowed to increase their permitted mining area, they will do
everything in their Iawer to irresponsibly exploit the entire 59+ acres for more than fifty
years. This should not be their right as quarry owners; this is not their right as neighbors.
This is not their right as landowners in a valley where endangered/threatened species share
their land, and this is not their right as ethical people who say they are concerned about the
natural environment they expect to leave their children.
I hope you will give my concerns your consideration. Thank you for your time and the
opportunity to offer my response.
Sincerely,
Donna G.
