The comments reflected strove interest <br />from Utah and Colorado reviewers in the proposed project and ar, ai to rnative <br />power plant site near Rangely. Officials in each State provided comments <br />favoring a location in their respective States; Colorado interests want <br />the plant near Rangely, while Utah people support Deser=_t's plan for the <br />Bonanza site. Either location would necessitate the use cf public land <br />adm'i ni stored by 5Li`1. <br />In addition to the two plant sites, several alternatives are <br />analyzed in the FEIS: two sources of coal (the :Rangely underground mine <br />and from the open market); five modes of coal transport (electric <br />railroad, conveyor, slurry pipeline, truck haul on regular highways, and <br />truck haul on a special service road) and alternative water sources from <br />the green and 'dhite rivers in Utah and Colorado. ~ "no action" alternative <br />als7 was analyzed.
