Such a slope would need to be flatter
than 3 to 1. It was perhaps not made clear that
the only exceptions would be in blending with
areas completed prior to the effective date of
the Reclamation Regulations or minor areas where
special. conditions may be encountered.
We do not feel it is practical to attempt to
present reclamation timetables and details in
:rrcas ,o far into t}~e future that It is pure
speculation at this time. It is felt that
special conditions and future details will be
worked out with Mined Land Reclamation personnel
as they are encountered, or as amendments are
indicated.
}:xhibit E, Page 7 references an attached copy of
a recommended seeding mixture which apparently
was not included in all copies of the revised
application. We wfll obtain another copy of
this seeding mixture recommendation for all
application copies. Since the permit application
was revised Ideal has executed an agreement with
t}ie Carron City District Soil Conservation service
'to conduct pio~t test work on revegetation.
IC was explained that there were no drainage-ways
involved 5.n the Portland West quarry. A water
impoundment from minor drainage along the quarry
floor has existed here for many years and has
presented no problems in the semi-arid climate.
We see no need to redisturb this area. The Bear
Creek drainage in the future Portland East quarry
h;i;; been referenced above. There are no drainage-
ways from the currently anticipated future Concrete
quarry.
VI.
