Ms. Susan Mowry
August 15, 1984
Page Two
Golden Eagle Mine
Problem 84-013-01. An analyses of culvert sizing can be found in Appendix A. 'fhe
same methods were employed for evaluating culverts 8 and 9 as discussed for the
New Elk. The results of this evaluation shows the present culverts are adequate. A
20 year 24 hour event was used to evaluate the sizing of CMP 8. The flow for this
event is S50 cfs. The calculations show the culvert will not overtop the railroad.
Problem 84-013-03. Appendix B contains survey information for pond 003 and 004.
The same situation is believed to exist for these ponds as discussed for the New Elk
ponds. WFC will commit to make changes as necessary to ponds 003 and 004, to be
in compliance with 405.6(3)(c) on the same schedule as the New Elk ponds.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
SinTcerely,~/~
~L/~L
David M. Stout
Environmental Coordinator
DMS/jla
