"Topsoil Removal Boundary' illustrated on the Topsoil Handling map (Map No. 28), is
the planned area for topsoil to be removed in the next five (5) year term.
On the Bond Calculation Map Worst Case Topography (Map No. 35), we use the term
"Pit Disturbance Boundary" to delineate the maximum extents of the disturbance area
(See CDMG Definition). Other "Disturbance Boundaries" are also illustrated on this
map to delineate the maximum extents of the disturbance area (See CDMG Definitions)
for other components (i.e. Facilities).
The Bond Calculation Map Regraded Topography (Map No. 3~ has the very same
boundaries discussed on Map No. 35, Bond Calculation Map Worst Case Topography.
Therefore the Mining Limits falls within the Spoil Grading Boundary, and the Spoil
Grading Boundary falls within the Topsoil Removal Boundary,-and the Topsoil Removal
Boundary falls within the Pit Disturbance Boundary.
The bond calculations are calculated from the worst-case perspective; therefore the
"Disturbance Boundary" lines were used to calculate volumes for bonding.
In the case of the West Ramp of the West Pit, the ramp falls within the coal removal
area or our"Mining Limit' illustrated on the Mine Plan Map (Map No. 23). In addition
the ramp area that falls outside the mining limit is illustrated as disturbed on both the
Spoil Grading map and the Topsoil Handling map. Therefore the ramp area is covered
by the existing permit information.
I hope this provides adequate clarification of the map boundariesand how the West Pit
ramp relates to those boundaries. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this
issue, please call at your convenience.
Sincerely,
C.
