.-
Carol Russell
MLRD-Permit Stipulations
April 3, 1983
Page 3
will be involved will be at the minimum.
I -Previous Disturbed Area (West of North Area)
This area located within GEC's current Permit boundary
but outside GEC's mining boundary. According to the
approved mine plan, GEC does not intend to reclaim this
area unless the MLRD plans to improve the environmental
situation around the area GEC would like to work with
the MLRD in a productive manner. Nevertheless, an in-
itial estimation indicates that no excess material is
projected, in fact, in order to restore the new Newlin
Creek channel bed for a slope of 5.7%, approximately
100'/300' along the West of GEC's "North Area", a total
of no more than 38,000 LCY of material will be required
for the final backfilling. These overburden materials
could be arranged and borrowed from GEC's "North Area"
for better final configuration. This volume calculation
was based on a Cross-Section (W-W), West of the North
Area and revised Map 15. A worst case was utilized
to figure out the total volume. Therefore, the total
amount of overburden material to be needed will be a
maximum.
GEC Minerals, Inc. believes those submissions shall be adequate to fulfill
the Permit Application Stipulations as stated above.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call.
Very urs,
L.K.
