<br /> <br />O'Connor <br />November 16, 1987 <br />Page 2 <br />germinate under these adverse soil moisture conditions and <br />has the ability to lay dormant until more positive <br />environmental conditions are present, it was felt that <br />seeding only is a more desirable and safe approach at this <br />time. <br />Areas selected for concentra*_ed shrub seeding primarily <br />include those areas retopsoiled with the dark and rich <br />mollic soils characteristic of the mixed brush native <br />vegetation types. Further site selection will include <br />areas with benches, small depressions, the upper basins of <br />drainages, and north or east aspects. The primary areas <br />of reclamation this fall are concentrated adjacent to the <br />upper ends of the Wolf Creek and Wadge mining areas. <br />Additionally, portions of the "D-9L" reclamation area will <br />be selected for concentrated shrub seeding areas as well. <br />The areas to be considered for concentrated shrub seedings <br />are shown on the attached map. <br />This information is presented as fulfillment of the <br />requirement for submittal of an annual planning map for <br />shrub and tree plantings in reclaimed areas at the Seneca <br />II Mine.
