(!S~ F.'a '.'~.:i~ l~ES~Uf~u4 <br />November 12, 1985 <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />423 Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman St. <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Attn: Mr. Peter O'Conner <br />I~~~ <br />Re: Reclamation, Boettcher Limestone Quarry <br />Permit #77-348 <br />Dear Mr. O'Conner: <br />Pursuant to our telephone conversation of this date, this <br />is to request that permission be granted to del<3y the <br />reclamation of the north 900 feet of the Boettcher <br />Limestone Quarry for one year, or until 1987. <br />The extraction of the A-band from the north 1800 feet of <br />the quarry was reported as being complete in the' 1982 <br />Annual Report, thereby activating the 5-year time clock <br />for completed reclamation. This would have necessitated <br />reclamation during 1986. During the 1985 production run <br />of the Boettcher plant, the area was reactivated and <br />approximately 30,000 tons of limestone were removfad and <br />used. In addition, the south 900 feet of the area have <br />again been placed in the active reserve for the Boettcher <br />plant, since there is space for two more cuts of ,~-band <br />in this section. <br />The use of the completed quarries as a landfill site for <br />Larimer County has been discussed with the County on <br />various occasions, but no agreement has been reached <br />since Ideal could not project a mining plan with <br />reasonable confidence until more experience was gained <br />with the new Boettcher plant and its processes. With the <br />1985 production run, Ideal can now make getter <br />projections. <br />
