Mr. Mark Loye
Ref: Neglected Mine • •
' August 18, 1981
Page 4
Exhibit E (continued)
6. The five acre figure was an approximation used in determining re-
commendations.
7. All structures associated with the operation will be removed as part
of the site reclamation program.
8. Shutdown and detoxification will consist of removal of all harmful
chemical and other process materials and equipment from the site. Waste
material will be neutralized as it is deposited during processing, there-
fore, only reclamation will be necessary after shutdown. Careful control
will be instituted to preclude spillage as solutions are removed from the
circuits and disposed of as off-site areas accredited for receiving in-
dustrial wastes.
Exhibit G
A signed, notarized document can be submitted to the Division as requested, however,
as the landowners are also the operators, such documentation may be unnecessary.
Fxhihit H
Reclamation costs will be negligible on three acres of the site comprised
of existing roads., existing waste piles and areas adjacent to the existing
roads that will not be disturbed.
2. The tailings disposal areas and mine shafts may require special reclama-
tion treatment, However, the specific nature and costs of such special
treatment are not clear at this time and consequently, potential costs
cannot be estimated.
3. Two additional species have been included in the proposed seed mix as
detailed above. The revision of the mix will increase its cost. The pro-
jected cost of thie Yellow sweet clover seed is roughly $0.75/lb. and the
cost of the Timothy seed is estimated at $1.50/lb. Thus, given the re-
commended percentage of the mix, total costs will increase by approximately
$12.00 per acre.
4. The cost of fertilization is estimated to be in the order of $50.00 per
acre or roughly $300.00 for the entire site.
As the operation involves removal of waste material, no excavation will be
undertaken and bz~ckfillin9 will be minimal. Surface preparation work in
reclamation will be focused on levelling and grading the site.
5. Topsoil placement: costs have been included in the estimated cost of sur-
face preparation.
