<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MIDDLE CREEK GOLDEN EAGLE EYRIE <br />Nest Location: NWQ of SW; of SEd of Section 17 T4N R86W <br />Monitoring for 1983 <br />3/7 3 PM Arrived - Adult eagle present, observed bird flying back and <br />forth along sandstone and occasionally landing on cliff above nest, <br />could not see a bird on the nest, do to mis-communication observer <br />was not present during 4:26 PM blast (approximate distance of blast <br />from nest 950 ft.) <br />OBSERVER: Terrell Johnson <br />3/14• 2 PM Arrived - 3 eagles present (2 mature, 1 immature), 1 mature eagle <br />was on nest and 2 eagles were flying. <br />3:10 PM Blast (approximate distance of blast from nest 610 ft) - No <br />observable effect on bird on nest (bird remained in nest). <br />3:31 PM Left are a. <br />OBSERVER: Dave McMindes & Sue Kelso <br />3/25 1:20 PM Arrived - 1 adult eagle flying - no birds visible on nest. <br />2:28 PM Blast (quite loud approximate distance of blast from nest <br />550 ft.) - Some loose rocks rolled off sandstone cliff 100 to 150 <br />` yards west of nest - eagle flew off nest (evidently she was on nest <br />incubating, but not visible from below) - It is not known whether the <br />eagle left the area or immediately returned to the nest due_to poor <br />visibility (snowing) and distraction from rolling rock. <br />2:43 PM - Eagle flew over going west and disappeared. <br />2:52 PM - Left site. <br />OBSERVER: Terrell Johnson <br />4/14 1:15 PM Arrived - could not see any eagles. <br />1:28 PM - Adult eagle flew in and landed on nest, other adult stood <br />up (evi.dently it was on the nest incubating) bath adults on nest, bird <br />which flew in left, circled up and exited to North, eagle still on . <br />nest settled down on nest and disappeared from sight. <br />1:40 PM - Left site. <br />OBSERVER: Terrell Johnson <br />4/15 No observations. (Approximate distance of blast from nest 700 ft.) <br />4/22 1:45 PM Arrived - Eagle on nest brooding/incubating. <br />2:02 PM - Other adult flew by nest then circled up and out of sight. <br />
