Panes 4.6-33 and 34 discusses the small area exemptions and states that one will be shown on Exhibit 4.6-2. A careful review indicates that the area around the sedimentation pond appears to be the missing small area exemption. Please address this omission. Rule 2.04.7(2)(b)(ii). 11. The phreatic surface discussion in the sedimentation pond embankment is being reviewed. Any further clarification or ouestions will be forwarded to you within ten days of the date of this letter. 12. P&M should specify that the additional set of wells to be installed in the backfilled spoils of the year 2 or 3 cut will be located near the dormslope boundary of the pit, in a location analogous to that of well series 215. Further, P&M should indicate that the installation will include two Diezometers, similar to well series 215 and 218 and that the lower piezometer will be completed in the Lower Wadge Seam, and the upper piezometer in the overlying spoil. P&M should indicate their plan to install an appropriate bentonite seal in the interburden section iernediately above the Lower Wadge Seam and below the pit floor. Finally, PBId should indicate that this well series should be installed in the location of the second Cut area as soon after backfilling and grading as possible. 15. Exhibit 4.3-1 does not label the undisturbed area southeast of the ~,^ c a~- sedimentation pond. Does P&M intend to strip the topsoil from this W"1 r , ,~,,~ area? Rules 1.04(7) and 1.04(36).
