Sep 23 98 03:35p Cyprus Amax User
19701 870-2753 p.6
use the classic approach of drilling holes, setting off charges, and placemrnt of geophones and
instrumrnts for recording the data. With the advances in computer technology, TCC is optimistic
bc[tcr resolution of the signal can be obtaitral and ibis will lx usW [o define the foul[.
The seismic program will entail establishing one line approximately 6.5 miles total length oriented
SW to NE starting nu-tr the center of Sec. 24, TSN, R87W and ending near the center of Sec.l2,
TSN, R86W as shown on the 1998 Notice of Intent Drilling Program map. 6-9 geophones will be
Paid out over fire line on 25 foot centers to record the data. Drill holes wits be estahlishrYl on 150
foot centers over 6 miles of the line. The geophones may extend 1,320 feet past dte ends of the 6
mile long shot line. Thc drill holes will be approximately 20 to 22 feet deep and will have a
nominal diameter of 4.5 inches. The cuttings from the drill holes will be mixed with bcutotrite drips
to be used as stemming over a 1 pound biodeSradablc charge that will be placed in the bottom of
the hole. Thc holes will be drilled witJt a small auger drill rig mounted on tires or [racks. There
arc no plans to construct any roads to aid in Ure drtlting of the holes. Thc rig is sufficirntly mobile
to eliminate the need for road building activities. All fence damage will be repaired immediately
upon completion of the seismic lines. Upon completion of the pro};ram the shot wire. marker
stakes, survey flagging, left over supplies, all trash, geophoncs and cable will be recovered. Based
upon the limited dtpth of the holes and fire fact that the cuttings will be used to backfill the holes
prior to shooting, no further rcelvttation work is planned.
1'he backhoe test pit corridors are lowtcd within the Fish Crcck valley floor. Thc purpose of the
test pits is to provide additional soils information within the valley floor. Ai pot rite attached map,
there are four corridors where the tts[ pits will be excavated. Within each condor up to four test
pits will be e.cavated for use in describing the soil prof Ic, rooting depth, subsur(atx yreology and depth
ro water. The pits wirl lx approximately I s to 2u feet in depth , 2 to 3 wide and approximately 10 feet in
length. The excavated material will be placed adjacent to the pit for use in reclaiming rite pit.
Reclamation Plan: Reclamation acttvrucs will begin once mud pits are sufficiently dry to allow
regrading of each site to occur. Materials excavated for the mud piu will be redistributed over dte
site, stockpiled topsoil will be spread, and broadcast seeding will occur over the entire disturbed
area using the following approved seed mixture Erom Permit No. C•82-056. Newly constructed
segments of access road will be reclaimed in a similar fashion with stockpiled topsoil spread and
disturbed areas broadcastsccdcd.
Stxcics
Slender Wheatgrass
Intermediate Whcatgrass
PubescentWhcatgrass
Desert Wheatgrass
Orchardgra_as
Seeding Rate {PLS Ibs/acrd
2.0
2.0
2.0
1.5
0.5
Timothy 0.5
Regar Meadow Brome 0.5
Lincoln Smooth Bromc 1.0
Alfalfa 0.25
Cicer Milkvctch _ 0.25
total 10.5
09/23/78 4 of
