MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Gary Goodell, County Planning <br /> FROM: Jim Crain, Director - Real Estate/Open Space <br /> DATE: August 21, 1981 <br /> RE: Open Space Board of Trustees ' Recommendations on <br /> the Deepe Farm - Flatirons Gravel Proposal <br /> Our File: OS-279 <br /> The Open Space Board of Trustees has reviewed the complete <br /> materials available on this proposal and discussed the proposal <br /> at its August 20, 1981 meeting. The Board held a lengthly <br /> discussion with the staff, the representative of Flatirons and <br /> members of the public. The Board then voted on the following <br /> motion: <br /> The Open Space Board of Trustees unanimously makes the <br /> following recommendations: <br /> That the 168. 5 acres known as the Deepe Farm not be <br /> acquired for Open Space at this time; <br /> That this is with the strong recommendation that the <br /> Open Space designation will remain with the property and <br /> that the property will remain a priority area for purchase <br /> as each phase (or the phases) of mining and reclaimation <br /> is complete; <br /> The Board recommends a periodic review of each phase <br /> (or the phases) of reclaimation (as completed) ; <br /> The Board is concerned with the preservation of natural <br /> elements and recommends more natural land contours for the <br /> proposed lakes, particularly the proposed western shorelines; <br /> The Board is concerned with the preservation of existing <br /> trees and the replanting of new trees; <br />
