Site Sh1F290, 288, 348, 945, 946, 947, 950, 1399, and 681 are not
eligible to the National Register of Historic Places. The prehistoric
sites will yield no further information important to prehistory. The
historic sites are not associated with persons or events important to
history.
2. Site SMF680 needs to be tested for subsurface deposits to make a
determination of eligibility. We have received no site fo:cm for 52tF289.
This site also needs further evaluation for the National Register.
3. SMF948 appears to be eligible to the National Register. This site
appears to be an extensive pictograph site that may yield important
information to the prehistory of the area.
4. As Sr1F680 and 289 are being avoided by project activities, we concur
with the Office of Surface Mining on the no effect determination. We
agree with the two stipulations being placed on the mine plan.
If this office can be of further ~..sistance, please contact
Jim Creen at 866-3392.
SirA=erely,
~~ ~' /
//~ '//'/' ' /~^j/' ~ ' ,
' ~ ~-
Arthur C.
