•
page 4
As the dragline excavates a pit, the material is spoiled in piles into the
previous pits. Dozers and graders grade the piles to the approximate
premined contour and topsoil is placed on graded piles. There will be no
more than four unregraded spoil rows.
A list of the major equipment for the Trapper Mine is as follows:
3 Page 752 draglines
3 overburden drills
12 dozers
3 graders
4 backhoes
2 loaders
1 coal drill
9 50-ton haul trucks
2 75-ton haul trucks

After the surface mining activities are completed, underground opera ions
are planned in Lease C-07518 for the DE bed. The other beds in the lease
are too deep and would require an uneconomic shaft access for mine
development and operations. These beds cannot be developed and mined a[ a
cos[ which would result in a competitive sales price for coal; therefore,
they are considered not commercially minable. Utah International is
achieving maximum economic recovery on the lease area.
There is no problem with diligent development with the current rate of
production.
Evaluation of Compliance
The mine and reclamation plan for Federal Coal Lease C-075Il8 for the Trapper
Mine complies with the Mineral Leasing Act and 30 CFR 211 requirements. The
plan is recommended for approval with the following stipulation:
Approval of the mine and reclamation plan is only for surfacce operations
through 1985.
