~ 1 <br />Mid-Term Review 26 November 27, 1985 <br />Section IV - Bond Calculations <br />The Division has reviewed the recalculated reclamation cost estimate for the <br />Deserado Mine submitted to the Division on July 11, 1985. The following <br />comments outline deficiencies identified in the estimate and describe what <br />additional information is required before the revised cost estimate can be <br />approved by the Division. Review comments are listed by the page numbers <br />provided in the cost estimate submittal. <br />Page 4 - Building Demolition <br />The list provided for building demolition should be revised to add the <br />following structures: <br />D-Portal Area - primary substation, mine substation, ventilation fan, <br />dust bin, explosives storage; <br />~~Overland Conveyer - transfer tower substations (2); <br />Rail Loop Area - access road tunnel, officelstorage building, substation; <br />'Slot Storage - emergency discharge structure; <br />Refuse Disposal Area - equipment storage shed; <br />Alluvial Well Area - well houses AW-3 and AW-5 (ref. Map 90), substation; <br />` Miscellaneous - powerline, radio tower, air sampling stations <br />Page 6 - Silo Demolition <br />The appropriate unit cost for demolition of the two sites should be $.17/cubic <br />foot for single concrete buildings. (item 25-060, Page 23, Means Cost Data). <br />Page 8 - Conveyor Demolition <br />It appears that the cost of removing the D-Portal Area interconnecting <br />conveyors (Nos. 101 through 106) have not been included in the estimate. <br />Additionally, the cost of removing the six big game animal crossings along the <br />overland conveyor system need to be included in the estimate. Page IV-17 of <br />the permit states that conveyor foundations will be "removed or demolished <br />below ground line". The estimated cost of removing the footers will need to <br />be added to the estimate. <br />Page 10 -Earthwork (D-9 dozer) <br />The current edition of the Rental Rate Blue Book which the Division uses to <br />verify hourly equipment costs only lists the D-9L rental rate, not the <br />discontinued D-9K series rental rate. In order for the Division to adequately <br />verify equipment costs, it is requested that the rental rate for the D-9 dozer <br />
