Mr. Jerome F. Gamba
December 8, 1981
Page -2-
7. Prior to Board consideration, please submit the Soil Conservation
Service recommendations for revegetation and soil treatment. Recommendations
made in the report which are not acceptable to the operator should be addressed
at the time of submittal. Staff requests that cottonwood plantings be a
part of the over all revegetation plan.
8. The Staff recommends a minimum setback of 25 feet from adjacent
properties and right of ways. Additionally, significant man made objects
occurring within 200 feet of the mining operation will require an agreement
between the operator and the owner of the structures that damage to such
structures is to be compensated for by the operator (e.g., Highway 82;
Basin Ditch; any residential site; etc.). Please refer to Rule 1.56(5)
in the Rules and Regulations.
9. Please describe when and how settling ponds and associated plant site
disturbances will be reclaimed.
10. Please note that the Division has forwarded this application to the
Division of Water Resources for their review and comment.
11. Please submit detailed drawings, specifications, and plans for
construction of the inverted siphon to allow the Divisions hydrologist
and geotechnical specialist to make a decision regarding the suitability of
the inverted siphon as proposed.
12. Staff will request that bond be set at $12,800.00 based upon information
provided in the application and subsequent correspondence. Costs were
calculated as follows:
$1,230
x3 acres major disturbance
$3,690
$530.00
11.05 acres moderate disturbance
$6,095
$500.00
x6 acres minor disturbance
$3,000
Sum-.- $12,800
The Mined Land Reclamation Board will consider this application at the
December 16-17, 1981 Board meeting.
