• with Land Use and Vegetation Requirements was used to determine <br />sample size adequacy, <br />Following completion of the field work, all production samples <br />were oven-dried at 200°F to a constant weight and reweighed. The <br />dry weights were then used to establish final sample adequacy. The <br />data used in these calculations are included in Tables 6 through <br />10. <br />Species Lists: <br />Species lists were compiled for each disturbed community and <br />reference area. Voucher specimens were collected and confirmed by <br />William Weber, retired Curator of the University of Colorado <br />• herbarium. <br />RESULTS <br />Community Designation and Description <br />Three major communities were identified as falling within the <br />area projected to be disturbed by mining operations: sagebrush <br />rangeland, native grassland, and juniper-pinyon woodland. These <br />communities are also the only communities identified in the permit <br />area and its immediate vicinity.
