5
the annulus. If not already the case, the
casino%tubing valves should be closed, at least, 24
hours prior to the pressure test.
Following steps are at the well:
6. Read tubing pressure and record oa the form. If the
well is shut-in, the reported information on the actual
m~v;~+m operating pressure should be used to determine
teat pressures.
7. Read pressure oa the casing/tubing annulus and record
value on the form. If there is pressure oa the
annulus, it should be bled off prior to the test. I!
the pressure will not bleed-off, the guidance oa well
failures (Reaioa VIII UIC Section Guidance #35) should
be follcwed_
8. Ask the .operator for the date of the last •.uorkover and
the volume of fluid added to the annulus prior to this
teat and record information on the form.
9. Hook-up well to pressure source and apply pressure
until teat value is reached.
10. Immediately disconnect pressure source sad start teat
time. (If there has been a significant drop in
pressure during the process of disconnection, the test
may have co be restarted.) The pressure gages used to
monitor injection tubing pressure and annulus pressure
should have a pressure range which will allow the teat
pressure to be near the mid-range of the gage.
Addit~oaa'_ly, the gate must 5e of sufficient accuracy
and scale co allow an accurate reading of a 10 percent
change to be read. For instance, a teat pressure of
600 poi should be monitored with a 0 to 1000 psi gage.
The scale should be incremented is 20 psi increments.
11. Record tubing and annulus pressure values every five
(5) minutes.
12. At the end of the teat, record the final tubing
pressure.
13. I! the teat fails, check the valves, bull plugs and
casing head close up foz possible leaks. The well
should be retested.
14. If the seccnd teat indicates a well failure, the Region
should be informed of the failure within 24 hours by
the operator, and the well should be shut-ia within 48
hours per !?eadauarters guidance #76.
