E. Stover & Associates to transfer Permit C-84-065, Coal Ridge <br />No. 1 Mine, to C.B. Minerals, LLC (Application). This document is the prerequisite written <br />findings by the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) for the written approval <br />of the transfer [Rule 2.08.6(4)]. The Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />Boazd for Coal Mining (Rules) contain the complete text of rules referenced throughout this <br />Findings document. <br />The Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine is in permanent cessation. No reinstatement of coal production is <br />presented in the request for transfer. Continuation of approved reclamation work and monitoring <br />activities operations aze to be accomplished by C.B. Minerals, LLC (C.B. Minerals). <br />The mine is located on private lands within Garfield County. The legal description of the lands <br />included within the permit area, approximately 2,484.3 acres, is: <br />Those lands in the NE'/a yet south of County Road 335, Lots 3 and 4, S %z, S 1/z NW '/< Section 1, <br />and the N %z NE'/4 Section 12, Township 6 South Range 91 West 6`h Principal Meridian; and the <br />S '/z SW '/< Section 5, al( lands south of County Road 335 Section 6, NE'/<, N'/z NW '/< Section <br />7, N''/z, N''/z SE'/<, NE'/< SW `/a Section 8, S 'h NW '/<, SW '/a Section 9, NW '/a Section I5, and <br />Nl/2 NE'/<, NE'/4 NW '/4 Section 16 Township 6 South Range 90 West 6~' Principal Meridian, <br />Garfield County, Colorado. <br />United States Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic maps Storm King Mountain and New <br />Castle quadrangles cover these areas of the permit. The permit azea is located to the south of the <br />Colorado River, approximately 7 miles west of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; and on the south <br />side of County Road 335, approximately 1.5 mile east of the I-70 105 New Castle, Colorado <br />interchange. The reclaimed disturbed areas (the mine portal and facilities area) aze located at the <br />base of a steep escarpment of the Grand Hogback. <br />
