Reclamation - As stated under item #1, Flatiron has the
opportunity to complete mining and reclamation of the entire
property without interruption by applying for and receiving
further approval to mine the remainder of the property prior
to completion of stage 2. As with any other mining permit
before the MLRB, however, the reclamation plan and bonding
should allow for the reclamation of only those areas mined
if mining of the entire property is not completed.
7. Alternate Reclamation Plan to Meet Boulder County Permitting
Process - If the MLRB permitting process can be used to
concTi on the application for future review and implementa-
tion of an alternate reclamation plan "in the event that
Boulder County ultimately limits excavation to these two
stages" , the Boulder County Planning staff would have no
problem with such a condition. If, however, the MLRB would
be unable to enforce such a condition , the staff would
prefer that the MLRB acquire an alternate reclamation plan
for only the first two stages.
The staff is essentially in agreement with the remainder of the statements
expressed in Mrs. Winter's letter of April 9. It is hoped that this letter
and the attached letter will be helpful to the MLRB and staff in reviewing
the Oeepe Farm Pit. If you should have any questions or require additional
information, please feel free to contact me at the Planning Office.
Very truly yours ,
Gary WRGoodel l ,
Operational Planner
GRG/cld
Encl .
cc: Mrs. Margaret Winter
