(EFCI) provides notice of intention to cease <br />operations temporarily pursuant to Rule 4.30.1(2). EFCI previously notified the Division of <br />temporary cessation of mining by letter dated December 18, 2000. <br />The following information is provided in compliance with the above Rules: <br />4.30.1(2)(a) The areas affected by mining within the permit area prior to temporary <br />cessation of operations are as follows: <br />1,115.2 acres of subsurface strata affected; <br />72.7 acres of surface affected (Mine Site), of which approx. 46.0 acres are part <br />of the subsurface area affected; <br />15.3 acres of surface affected (Loadout area); <br />5,150 feet (north-south) by 5,270 feet (east-west) horizontal extent of <br />subsurface affected; <br />1,550 feet max. vertical extent of subsurface affected. <br />4.30.1(2)(b) The extent and kind of reclamation of surface areas accomplished through the <br />date of temporary cessation are as follows: <br />27 acres topsoiled and revegetated at the Mine Site (all on Refuse Disposal <br />Area), no areas released from bond; <br />14.5 acres backfilled, graded, topsoiled, and revegetated at the Loadout area, <br />with Phase 1 bond release approved. <br />4.30.1(2)(c) There are no backfilling, regrading, or revegetation activities to continue <br />during the temporary cessation. In addition, there are no underground opening <br />closures or water treatment activities that continue during the temporary <br />cessation. All approved environmental monitoring activities continue during the <br />temporary cessation. <br />
