-64- <br />Resolved: <br />CWI's spring monitoring program is described in Section 2.05.6(3)(b)(iii) <br />of the permit application and documented more specifically in Table 3 of <br />Volume 4. Data gathered is submitted on an annual basis and available <br />for review throughout the year at the mine offices. <br />STIPULATION N0. 11 <br />THE OPERATOR SHALL BEGIN MONITORING THE ALLUVIUM OF THE STEVENS GULCH <br />WELL FIELD, THE MONITORING WELL SHOULD BE MONITORED MONTHLY FOR WATER <br />LEVELS AND QUARTERLY FOR WATER CHEMISTRY. THE DATA GATHERED FROM THE <br />WELL SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE DIVISION QUARTERLY. <br />Resolved: <br />CWI describes its monitoring of alluvial/colluvial deposits, including <br />the Steven's Gulch wellfield 1n 2.05.6(3)(b)(111). The two wells in the <br />Steven's Gulch wellfield are SM-2 and SM-9. <br />STIPULATION N0. 12 <br />COLORADO WESTMORELAND, INC. IS DIRECTED TO COMPLETE PHASE II OF THE <br />GEOTECHNICAL AND STABILITY ANALYSES OF ITS SURFACE FACILITIES AREA AT THE <br />ORCHARD VALLEY MINE, AS OUTLINED IN THE VARIOUS LETTERS OF PROPOSAL FROM <br />MERRICK & COMPANY AND GEOHYDRO CONSULTANTS INCLUDED IN VOLUME 10 OF THE <br />AMENDED APPLICATION. PHASE II OF THIS STUDY INCLUDES AN ANALYSIS OF <br />ALTERNATE PROPOSED SITES FOR A COAL PROCESSING WASTE PILE AT THE ORCHARD <br />VALLEY MINE. THE SCOPE OF PHASE II SHALL INCLUDE TEST DRILLING AND <br />EXCAVATION OF TEST PITS, THE INSTALLATION OF APPROPRIATE WATER QUANTITY <br />AND QUALITY MONITORING WELLS, THE PERFORMANCE OF VARIOUS ROCK AND SOIL <br />TESTS, AND THE PERFORMANCE OF A SERIES OF STABILITY ANALYSES DEALING WITH <br />EXISTING SURFACE FACILITY CONFIGURATIONS AND WITH THE PROPOSED <br />ALTERNATIVE SITES AND STRUCTURES FOR A COAL PROCESSING WASTE PILE. THIS <br />ANALYSIS SHALL BE COMPLETE AND A REPORT SUMMARIZING THE RESULTS AND <br />METHODOLOGY THEREOF SUBMITTED TO THE DIVISION FOR REVIEW BY <br />DECEMBER 31, 1981. <br />Resolved: <br />The final submittal of Phase II was received by the Division on 4/16/82 <br />and approved on 5/17/82. It is incorporated into the permit application <br />in Volume 6. <br />
