cement or equivalent cement for plugging wells. The steel casing shall be cut to a <br />depth of three (3) feet below the surface elevation where it will be followed by a <br />compacted lift of soil to complete the filling of the hole. The steel casing must be <br />disposed of off site in accordance with all state and federal laws. All areas disturbed <br />by this task will be seeded in accordance with Task 5. The final location of the <br />abandoned wells shall be marked by the CONTRACTOR with a wooden stake and <br />labeled. Mazking material shall be supplied by the CONTRACTOR. <br />A Well Abandonment Report must be completed for each well and submitted to the <br />PROJECT MANAGER within two weeks of reclaiming the wells. CONTRACTORS <br />will use the forms supplied by the PROJECT MANAGER and are included as <br />Figure 2. <br />3.3 Measurement and Payment <br />There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a <br />lump sum bid under Item 4 of the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover payment of <br />all costs of materials, accessories, labor, maintenance, operating supplies, salaries of <br />operators, and any other expenses incidental to the spermcation and bid item(s). Payment <br />shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment <br />for this task shall be made only for that amount shown under Item 3 of the Bid Schedule. <br />Any or all incidental costs incurred by the CONTRACTOR shall be reflected in each Bid <br />Item or shall be paid at the CONTRACTOR'S expense. <br />4.0 SEDIMENT POND REMOVALAND DRAINAGE CHANNEL RECONSTRUCTION <br />4.1 Description <br />This specification covers all work required to re-establish drainage through the Coal Silo <br />Facility area, including sediment pond removal, culvert removal, drainage ditch excavation <br />and placement of fabric liner in two channels. Location of the sediment pond and culverts <br />are depicted on Exhibit 2A and 2B and 2C. All regraded ditches and pond shall be seeded <br />with the seed mix specified in Section 5 of the bid document. <br />4.Z Execution <br />The CONTRACTOR shall perform all work and provide all the materials necessary to <br />reconstruct drainage control within the Coal Silo area and East Mine Area in accordance <br />with the plans and specifications set forth below. <br />A Sediment Pond <br />Sediment pond depicted on Exhibit 2A, shall be backfilled. Pond embankments <br />located to the south, east and west shall be pushed into the pond area. The northern <br />extent of the sediment pond shall not be disturbed. The slope of the backfilled area <br />shall be no steeper than 2%. The emergency spillway consists of a concrete <br />structure.
