<br />The water pumped from the No. 5 and 9 mines will be monitored as <br />per the following: <br />Parameter <br />Volume pumped <br />EC, pH, and temperature <br />TDS, TSS, NPDES parameters <br />• <br />Frequency <br />Weekly <br />Weekly <br />Quarterly <br />As part of the NPDES monitoring Empire is required to submit <br />quarterly reports to the Department of Health and other agencies. <br />Empire will submit a copy of the quarterly NPDES reports to the Division <br />and the OSM. Likewise, it will send the Division a copy of any <br />correspondence requesting any NPDES parameters to be deleted from the <br />NPDES monitoring program. <br />Empire will monitor the north spring (Lippard I) and Lippard II <br />spring per the following: <br />Parameter Frequency <br />Flow and EC, pH and temperature Monthly <br />Full MLR suite in water <br />quality guideline <br />Quarterly <br />The Haxton Spring, which is located in the NW} NW} Section 25, TSN, <br />R92W was investigated during September, 1983 by Mr. Steve Korte, <br />consulting geologist. He found that a 36" corrugated steel drainage <br />pipe was set vertically in the ground at the spring. He reported that <br />• stagnant water was present in the pipe and a wet area was seen at the <br />(REV. 2/14/84) <br />IV-121a <br />
