<br />HISTORY OF UTP.H INTERNATIO~IAI. INC. <br />Utah International Inc. (Utah) originated in 1900 in the state of Utah and was <br />known as Utah Construction Co. During its history, Utah worked on such projects <br />as Hoover Dam, Alcan Highway, 'died River Canyon Road and the Davis Dam to name a <br />few. Utah entered into mining operations in the 1940's, land development in the <br />1950's and natural gas and oil exploration in 1974. I.n 1959, the name Utah <br />Construction and Mining Company was adopted to reflect increased activities in min- <br />ing. As the company's worldwide activities expanded, the name was modified in <br />October, 1971, to Utah International Inc. On December 20th, 1976, Utah Inter- <br />national Inc. was acquired by General Electric Company and is operated as a subsi- <br />diary of that company.
