Hydroloaic Balance <br />A. Water Quality Standards and Effluent Limitations <br />The Division has approved small area exemptions (SAE'S) <br />from the use of sediment ponds due to the limited size of <br />the area and due to the fact that the ponds and treatment <br />facilities are not necessary for the drainage to meet the <br />effluent limitations of Rule 4.05.2 and applicable State <br />and Federal water quality standards for receiving streams <br />and also due to the fact that no mixing of surface <br />drainage with a discharge from underground workings will <br />occur. The small areas to be exempted are the following: <br />Mine Site <br />1. Rock dust storage facility: Technical Revision <br />No.17, approved 12/13/93, provided the SAE <br />demonstrations for use of a silt fence in this area <br />for sediment control. <br />2. Monarch (South) Mine Fan: Technical Revision No.17, <br />approved 12/13/93, provided SAE demonstrations for <br />the area, with use of a silt fence for sediment <br />control. <br />3. Substation No.2: Technical Revision No. 15, approved <br />12/1193 provided SAE demonstrations for this area. <br />4. Explosives Bunker: Technical Revision No. 15, <br />approved 12/1/93, provided SAE demonstrations for <br />this area, with the use of a silt fence for <br />sediment control. <br />5.
