Topsoil replacement and drainage channel construction at the "A" pit <br />The status of topsoil replacement and drainage channel construction at the "A" pit was <br />addressed under the section discussing major reclamation projects (priority No. 2). The <br />schedule and effort to eliminate the permitting backlog was addressed in the section entitled <br />"Permitting Tasks and Schedule". <br />2. Lack of response to issues identified in the Division's review of the 2003 annual <br />reclamation report (graded spoil sampling in the "B" and "D" pits) <br />Graded spoil sampling was completed in the "A" and "B" Pit areas in June 04. There is <br />additional sampling scheduled for October 2004 in the "D" Pit area and the "A" Pit slide area. <br />3. Permitting backlog <br />SCC has retained additional contractual assistance to address the permitting backlog. This <br />assistance will be retained as long as needed to bring the permitting current. This assistance <br />has allowed SCC to submit Seneca II, TR-36; Seneca II-W, MR-56; Yoast, MR-22, TR-25, <br />and TR-26 since our meeting. <br />4. Bood <br />The bond has been increased as requested and documentation/rider submitted as par[ of PR- <br />04. <br />5. Revegetation (shrub/aspen planting, shrub density evaluations and remedial plans to <br />augment shrub densities if warranted, and protection of shrub and aspen plots from elk <br />(fencing) <br />A contractor is on-site harvesting and planting aspen (as of 10/6/04). The same contractor <br />will construct an elk proof fence following the aspen planting. <br />6. Repair of the "A" pit 6ighwall reduction slide <br />SCC has completed the work to remediate the slide. The remediation plan and stability <br />analysis will be submitted as part of TR-49 (submittal 10/8/04). <br />7. Deviation from the approved postmine drainage construction plan in the permit <br />This issued is being addressed in TR-45. <br />8. Pond 016A <br />This issued is being addressed in TR-49 (submittal 10/8/04). <br />SCC has also completed work, or is in the process of completing work on several other <br />reclamation issues identified in past inspections. SCC completed repair of the leak in the Pond <br />006 spillway. Topsoil stockpiles AAA and CCC have been termed and ditched. SCC has <br />developed a weed management plan that will be submitted in the midterm review response <br />
