The analyses were completed on September 1, 1986. A brief
discussion of those results follows:
The salinity levels and sodium adsorption ratios are low and should not
present a problem tonative vegetation (Table 1). The soil fertility levels showed
low nitrate-nitrogen and phosphorus levels, and adequate levels of all
other fertilizer components (Table 2). The texture of 3 of the soil samples
was silty clay loam and 2 of silt loam (Table 3). The fine texture of the soil
may present a problem on steep slopes where gullying and tilling could occur
during a heavy rainstorm. For this reason, mulching and netting are advised
after planting.
Fertilizer Recommendations
In order to assist Che newly planted vegetation to establish in the soil,
the following fertioizer amendments are suggested:
100 pounds per acre of 18-46-0; (18 pounds N, 46 pounds P205)
50 pounds per acre ammonium sulfate;( 10 pounds N)
The fertilizer should be worked into the upper several inches of soil as soon
as possible after spreading.
Respectfully Submitted By:
~~~
ci ~~~2.~'-n
D.
