.; •: ~ •
Tract B: topsoil stockpile.
Tract C: mineral extraction, roads, topsoil stockpile.
Wilson Tract: roads.
RULE 2.41(2): No land has been fully reclaimed. We are aware that
contemporaneous reclamation is important to good reclamation, but the
nature of the quarry at this tore does not permit a close conjunction of
mining and reclamation, It is anticipated that in this next year, sane
seeding can occur in some mined out areas. If that occurs, then it
would be one year ahead of the original, approved reclamation timetable.
RULE 2.41(3): In last year's report it was noted that two benches
in Tract C would be completed. During this year rtr~re benches were
completed. They must be covered with plant growth medium and seeded.
It was also noted that the old road area in Tract A-1 would be
graded and seeded. This was delayed so as to allow a possible conjunction
of this work with the building of the new road.
RULE 2.41(4): No planting occurred.
RULE 2.41(5): Because no planting occurred, no soil amendments
were used.
RULE 2.41(6): Last year it was noted that some diffiailties were
encountered with the floor of the benches and that a change in the
blasting pattern helped to correct the problem, Since then, rrore benches
have been cut and the floors are remaining acceptably level.
To provide a coverage of plant growth mediiun on the benches, soil
and weathered parent material was shot down over the benches. This was
the first attempt at such a treatment and although certain aspects did
not develop as we had hoped, the approach produced a better condition
