Based on our inspections, it appears
a your excava a area may be significantly greater than
contemp]ated under the original Mining Plan; it is also much deeper
than proposed. Please submit a completely new set of bonding
calculations, reflectiq,~ of conditions at the time of the maximum
disturbance anticipated tlgder your new Mining Plan. Note that
these calculations should b~ based upon what it would cost the
State of Colorado to have independent contractors reclaim this site
in the event of a default, not what your costs are expected to be.
Please note that, pursuant to Rules 1.8.2 and 1.8.4, this information must be
comparable in scope and degree of detail to that which would be expected in a
new Permit Application. (Also note that five (5) copies of the entire
package, including maps, are required.)
Per your request, I sent you copies of the existing Mining Plan, Reclamation
Plan and Maps for this site last October, along with copies of recent
Inspection Reports identifying several apparent deviations from the approved
plans. I believe you have been afforded ample time to determine how your
actual operations compare to the plans we have on file, and to prepare this
requested Amendment. Please have this information submitted to this office,
complete and in detail, prior to March 30, 1990 or a Notice of Violation will
issue.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
~~~
"Nfi c~ Boyd
Reclamation Specialist
MJB/eke
6295G
