CONTRACTOR shall ensure that geomembrane rolls are properly loaded and <br />secured to prevent damage during transit. <br />3. CONTRACTOR shall protectgeomembranefrom excessive heat, cold, puncture. <br />cutting, or other damaging or deleterious conditions. <br />4. CONTRACTOR shall ensure personnel responsible for loading, transport, and <br />unloading of geomembrane are fully aware of the consequences of damage to <br />geomembrane, and are familiar with handling and transport constraints imposed <br />by MANUFACTURER. <br />5. Geomembrane shall be supplied in rolls wrapped and relatively impermeable and <br />opaque protective covers, with straps for unloading. <br />B. Acceptance at Site <br />1. MANAGER shalt perform inventory and surface inspection for defects and <br />damage of all geomembrane rolls upon delivery. <br />2. CONTRACTOR shall unroll and inspect any geomembrane roll that may be <br />damaged below surface. <br />3. CONTRACTOR shall repair damage resulting from handling and transport of <br />geomembranes at no additional cost to OWNER. If irreparable, in the opinion <br />of MANAGER, damaged materials shall be replaced at no additional cost to <br />OWNER. <br />C. Storage and Protection <br />1. MANAGER will provide area for on-site storage of the geomembrane rolls from <br />time of delivery until installation. <br />2. The storage and handling of the materials is the responsibility of CONTRACTOR <br />from the time the materials are manufactured until the time the completed <br />installation is accepted. CONTRACTOR is responsible for preparing the storage <br />location and for the protection of the materials from the elements le.g. <br />ulvaviolet light, moisture, temperature, ete.l. <br />3. After CONTRACTOR has removed material from storage, CONTRACTOR shall <br />protect geomembrane from puncture, dirt, grease, water, moisture, mud, <br />mechanical abrasion, excessive heat and other sources of damage. <br />4. CONTRACTOR shall preserve iniegriry and readability of the geomembrane roll <br />labels, and store the rolls such that MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER <br />have access to the package slips ar roll labels for each roll to verify roll <br />acceptance. <br />March 26, 7996 Section 02776.0 <br />02776.0-6 Geomembrane <br />Revision 4 <br />
