Nontributary groundwater SIT) from District Court, Water Division No. 1, Case No.
90CW079
The decree allows an average annual amount of withdrawal of 28.86 acre-feet fmm the Lower
Arapahos and 73.72 act~feet from the l,aramia-Fox Hills Aquifer;. Tho total aliowed average
annual amount of withdrawal is 102.56 acre-feet. Two ptrcent of any withdrawals from these
two nontributary aquifers are required to remain in the stream system. The withdrawal amount
may exceed the allowed average annual amount ee long as the total volume does not exceed the
product of the number of years since the issuance of the dxrec limes the allowed average annual
amount from each aquifer. The water will ba pumped from a well Geld that will be located nn e
portion of the North Dahlia site that is adjacent to the South Platte River.
The replacement schedule is shown in Table-4. This schedule is reproduced from the
afotcmentioned separate letter, jagged depletions from this individual plan are included in the
`Total Pit Tagged Depletions' column of the teplaceatent schedule.
t7peraNan afPlarr
_ The arras and volumes used for calculations in this plan were based on estimated full-scale
operating conditions. The exposeii water surface areas, dust control, and aggregate production
could vary From the numbers used for calculations in this plan. The operator of the Hammer Pit
will utilize the "Monthly Accounting Fotm" shown in Table-5 to calculate and report aanral
depletions incurred at the mine on a monthly basis. This monthly accounting will allow the
operators to effectively utilizo thou replacement water resourecs. The accounting form will be
made available to the water commissioner e9 requested.
Coeelasions and Recorntreeetdarioas
+ Mining will expose approximately 3.0 acres of ground water.
• Annual consumptive use for the site is estiitated at 30.81 acre-feet and includes
evaporation from exposed ground water, dust control and water lost in ptnduct hauled
ofFaite,
• Since the pit is located within the Brighton Reach of the South Platte River, a sttoain
depletion model utilizing a IO day SDF was used to determine monthly lagged stream
depletions.
