r~
Bayfield Pit N1
Adequacy Letter Response
Page 2

• No chemicals or the storage of chemicals will occur on this site.
Application Item #15 - Description of Amendment: You state in this section, "Phasing wilt
remain the same." The original permit area and Amendment 2 each described specific phased
operations, but the exhibits pertinent to this AM-03 application do not.
This amendment is proposing to combine the previously approved phases into three (3)
phases of mining. The acreage size for each phase is as follows:
Phase I = 18 acres
Phase II = 11 acres
Phase I11= 35 acres
Total 64 acres
Exhibit C -Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map: You have provided herein a couple names of
adjoining landowners, but not on any other maps in this submittal. You also provided a list of
many other landowners which are not on the map.
The mining map has been changed to reflect the land ownership within 200 feet of the
mining operation.
Exhibit C cont.: The depicted amendment area boundary seems to abut the west edge of County
Road 521. Is this boundary actually defined by the road edge, or by the County right-of-way
line, or by another feature? Does the east end of the permit entrance road extend into the County
road itself?
The eastern portion of the permit boundary that abuts County Road 521 does so from the
right-of--way associated with the road, which is 60 feet, 30 feet each side of center line. The
entrance road will begin from the edge of the pavement and right-of--way of County Road
521.
Exhibit C cont.: In the amendment area and within the 200-foot envelope that is drawn, there are
numerous features and structures which should be labeled, they are as follows: culvert and/or
cattle guard depicted 200 feet west of the east end of the entrance road, owner(s) of the irrigation
ditch and its branch and owner of the fence along the south side of the entrance road.
Each of these items have been addressed and placed on the enclosed mining map. The fence
that borders the southem edge of the permit area along the southern and northern edge of the
access road and is owned by the property owner, Gosney. A culvert is located approximately
130 feet from the entrance from County Road 521 across a private ditch owned by the
Gosney's. One cattle guard is located along the southem service road which is located near
the southeast comer of Phase III.
