Erica Crosby
Division of Minerals and Geology
March 1, 2005
reseeded and stabilized, and then will be removed or regraded per the proposed reclamation plan. If
necessary, the applicant will apply for a Stormwater Discharge Permit and prepare a Stormwater
Management Plan for the site.
Incorrect Range -The Division has the Range of this site incorrectly listed (see attached "Mining
Operations Report" from the Division's web site) as 84W. The site is actually located in Range 85
West.
Map Edit -Previous drawings contained an error related to the location of the western boundary of
Section 14. The section line has been adjusted and now shows County Road 3, correctly, within
Section 14. The site acreage has not changed. The entire map set is therefore attached to reflect this
change.
Fuel Tanks -Since the last adequacy response, the applicant has decided to include on-site fuel
storage. Please see Exhibit C-3 for the location of the tanks and containment structure. The applicant
expects to store the following types and quantities of fuel:
8,000 gallons diesel fuel
500 gallons gasoline
All fuel tanks will be located within the existing pit and stored within a lined earthen berm, made
impermeable with a visqueen-type or geo-synthetic impermeable liner, and sized to contain at least
110% of the total fuel storage. It is our opinion that a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure
(SPCC) Plan is not required per 40 CFR 112 because of the location of the tanks within the pit.
I understand that the decision date for this application is Monday, March 7. 2005. Please let me know if
your require additional time or information to approve this application. Thank you.
Sincerely,
~Zy~'~' ~~~22~
Maureen Jacoby
Project Manager
Attachments: Division's 2nd Adequacy Review Letter, dated February 8, 2005
Inventory List of Items Stored on Property as of February 24, 2005
Seed Mix for Old County Pit, South of CR3
Memo from Ramsay M.
