Grading in Portion of Valora Pit

The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4,
of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 19, 2003, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Yoast Mine
was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Coal Company. All review and
comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing.
This technical revision presents a design for an additional postmine channel (YPM-13) in the North Pit disturbed azea, a revised
PMT for the Valora Pit, and a variance request for the baling of rough bacldlling and grading in the southern portion of the
Valora Pit.
The Surface coal muilng operation is on land located approximately 7 miles Southwest of Hayden, Colorado. The permit azea
is further described as follows:
T6N, R87W, Portions of Sections 28, 29 and 32
TSN, R87W, All of Section 17; Portions of Sections 5, 8, 16, 18, 19, 20, 29, 30
Mt. Harris & DtmcMey
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Danckley and Mount Hams.
The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of
publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at Hayden Public Library, 225
E. Jefferson Avenue, Hayden, Colorado 81639„ and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written
comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203,
[phone]. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen
(15) days of this letter. If no comments aze received by then, we will proceed on the assumption that you have no concerns
with, or objections to, the applicanPs proposal.
