Cottony <br /> Division Director <br />Re: Yoast Mine (Permit No. C-1994-082) Natural Resource rrustee <br />Technical Revision Application No. 25 (TR-25) <br />Additional Postmine Channel (YPM-13), Revised PMT for Valora Pit, and Variance Request for Bacld-dl and <br />Grading in Portion of Valora Pit <br />Dear Mr. Simpson: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 19, 2003, an applicaton to revise coal mining operations at the Yoast Mine <br />was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Coal Company. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This technical revision presents a design for an additional postmine channel (YPM-13) in the North Pit disturbed area, a revised <br />PMT for the Valora Pit, and a variance request for the timing of rough baclcfilling and grading in the southern portion of the <br />Valora Pit. <br />The Surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles Southwest of Hayden, Colorado. The permit azea <br />is further described as follows: <br />T6N, R87W, Portions of Sections 28, 29 and 32 <br />TEN, R87W, All of Section 17; Portions of Sections 5, 8, 16, 18, 19, 20, 29, 30 <br />Mt. Hams & Dunckley <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Dunckley and Mount Hams. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, die applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at the Hayden Public Library, <br />225 E. Jefferson Avenue, Hayden, Colorado 81639„ and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written <br />comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen <br />(15) days of this letter.
