P.E.
of Telesto Solutions, [nc. containing design criteria, construction methods, "a -built"
verifications, and "as-built" drawings for the tailings line collection pond. Th collection
structure has been designed and constructed to collect West Pit groundwater o water
treatment plant brine solution, in the unlikely event of a future line failure. A we
previously discussed, the collection structure is to collect and contain the hdl olution
volume of the pipeline and the nominal volume of fluid (i.e., groundwater, bri a solution)
pumped over a 1-hour period. In light of the volume of the pond, this nomina pumping
rate volume equates to approximately 450 gpm. Although, BMRI will operat the
associated primping facilities at a rate not to exceed 350 gpm and commits to i sped and
record hourly inspections of the pipeline facility, any time the pipeline is in us .Should a
pipeline leak occur, BMRI will suspend pumping operations until such pipeli leak is
repaired and will promptly collect any tuids contained in the pond and transf these
fluids to the tailings facility. In addition, BMRI will excavate exposed soils i the pond
area and transport these soils to the tailings facility.
Afrer reviewing the above discussion and the attached Tec/znical lLiemorcrndu should
any questions arise or clarifications to the material are needed, please contact ither Mr.
David Long at (719) 379-0798 or myself at (775) 240-3559.
Sincere) ,
iI y
Director of Environmental Affairs
Cc: David Long
file
A SURSIDIAR}"OF BATTLE h10 UNTAGV GOLD COM1IPAN7~ ""~
P.O.
