EXHIBIT E
reclamation plan
The reclamation plan calls for returning the disturbed areas, after mining and reclamation,
to a land use that is rangeland within the extraction area. This land use is consistent with
those found in the surrounding area.
The predominate feature of the reclaimed area will be a flat graded area no more than 80
feet below the surrounding undisturbed elevation. Exhibit F depicts a configuration of the
ground surface, area which will result after the gravel resource has been removed.
BACKFILLING AND GRADING - As the gravel extraction activities are completed, the
backfilling and grading activities will commence. Initial backfilling, grading and seeding
activities will occur during 2000. It is anticipated that backfilling and seeding will occur at
3 to 5 year intervals until the site has been completely mined. Because all of the soil was
within the extraction area was used in the construction of the aforementioned visual berms,
two sources of material will be used: 412, 000 cubic yards of imported material and 47, 763
- ---,
cubic yards_ of top soil, which is contained within the visual berms. Approximately
1,376fubic yards of material will be required to obtain the final configuration depicted
on Exhibit F. The backfilling and grading sequence will be as follows:
_~ -
1. The stockpiled soil will be hauled from a centrally located stockpile area by mobile
equipment to the extraction site and placed where required to achieve a level
topography and properly backfilled slopes. The soil source will be obtained from the
previously constructed visual berms that surround the employee .housing area and
along the westerly side of the extraction area. Additionally, stockpiled soil from outside
sources will also be used as backfill material. The location of these stockpiles will
change from time to time as mining and grading locations change over the life of the
facility.
Rev.01-04-00
E-8
