<br />CHRONOLOGY <br />Colowyo Mine <br />Federal Lease C-29224 <br />Mining Plan Decision Document <br />DATE EVENT <br />May 10, 1991 Colowyo Coal Company (Colowyo) submitted the <br />permit application package (PAP) under the <br />approved Colorado State Program to the <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />(NERD) for a permit revision for the Colowyo <br />Mine. <br />May 14, 1991 The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and <br />Enforcement (OSM) received the PAP. <br />May 24, 1991 Colorado MLRD determined that the PAP was <br />administratively complete for public review <br />and comment. <br />June 25, 1991 Colowyo published in the Northwest Colorado <br />Daily Press the fourth consecutive weekly <br />notice that its complete PAP was filed with <br />Colorado MLRD. <br />October 2, 1991 The State Historic Preservation Office <br />assessed the cultural resource mitigation <br />plan and made recommendations for protection <br />of cultural resources. <br />May 26, 1992 OSM received final consultation comments on <br /> the mining plan modification from the U.S. <br /> Fish and Wildlife Service. <br />June 4, 1992 Colorado MLRD approved the PAP. <br />July 1, 1992 OSM received Colorado MLRD's permit decision <br /> and findings. <br />July 15, 1992 OSM received final concurrence with the <br /> approval of the mining plan modification <br /> from the Bureau of Land Management, the <br /> Federal land management agency. <br />July 1992 OSM's Western Support Center Office <br /> recommended that the mining plan <br /> modification be approved. <br />
