Gunnison No. 1 Mine
VENT FAN TECHNICAL REVISION
Dear Paige:
The Division has completed its review of your January 22, 1985 responses to
our adequacy review on the ventilation fan technical revision. The revision
proposes a power line, minor light-use road relocation, and a ventilation fan
in Sylvester Gulch.
The Division proposes to approve your revision subject to two stipulations.
First, since Mt. Gunnison will be dewatering a mine in the F seam, this is an
excellent opportunity to characterize what post mining water quality could be
like for the mine. It also makes it important that Mt. Gunnison fully
characterize what water will be discharged to the North Fork River. Therfore,
the following stipulation is imposed:
Stipulation #TR-1
West Elk Coal Company shall collect at least
representative sample of the discharge water
have it properly analyzed far the following
pH (field)
Conductivity at 25 deg.
