Operating after hours: I have enclosed a letter from Santa Fe Railway ettplainiag the reason for this. 1 tried unsuccessfully to reach the commissioners late st nits on this matter. tt was I who ude the decision to haul to the Santa Fe R.R. I have since told the commissioners it wiill not happen again. 2. We have been acensed of cresting huge amounts of dust. This is simply not true, to bate a full time 4,000 gallon water truck on the property. Ae have also paved the road up to the quarry to further control dust. 3. Hauling untarped loads: •e have not been tarping loads: as no one in Fremont County does - including County and City trucks. I talked to kyrvn Smith about this and he said he had no intention of singlinb as out when no one else has to tarp. We very seldom lose material from any load. 4. We are also accused of inadequate storm water management: Our storm water wanegement has been approved and we continually up dace it. There is very little uncontrolled water now compared to the past, before we purchased the quarry. 5. We have been using explosives for over 25 years. we have been called in by State Highway Departments, Bureau of Recla.mntion, etc. to perform some of the most difficult drill,irtg and blasting jobs. We have not in any way caused any property damege by use oC explosives. Our explosives permit is too important to us to takc any chances of having it revoked. I am personally in charge of alt blasting operations.
