San Lvis Project Specifications <br />• while the construction work is in progress. The Field Engineer (and asst ants) will be <br />independent representatives of BMRI, appointed by BMT2I. The inspection d QA testing <br />conducted by the Field Engineer shall be under the supervision of a Professional Engineer <br />registered in the State of Colorado. <br />Inspection and QA testing shall include the tasks listed below. <br />• Observation of construction practices and procedures to ensure confon~tance with the <br />Specifications. <br />• Verification that construction materials conform to the requirements in the <br />Specifications. I <br />• Testing GCL material characteristics and ensuring that placement, seaming, and other <br />work practices conform to the requirements in the Specifications. <br />• Documentation of construction activities, test locations, samples, and test results. <br />• Notification of results from quality assurance testing to the Contractor. <br />• Documentation of field design modifications or approved construc on work that <br />deviates from the Specifications. <br />• Documentation outlined above shall be recorded by the Field Engineer on daily basis. <br />Deviations from the Specifications shall be discussed with BMRI and the Profess onal Engineer <br />and must be approved by the Professional Engineer with notification to MG or other <br />appropriate Colorado state regulatory agency personnel. i <br />E.1.6 Construction Documentation <br />During construction, the Field Engineer will document any construction inspection work. <br />Documentation will include the following items. <br />• Work performed by the Contractor <br />• QA testing and surveying work conducted. <br />• Discussions with BMRI and the Contractor. <br />• Key decisions, important communications, or design modifications. <br />• General comments including, weather conditions, soil or liner surfa~Ce conditions, <br />visitors to the site, etc. <br />. A final construction report documenting the as-built conditions of the diversion c annels will be <br />submitted to DMG at the end of construction.
