Re onset No changes will be made to this spillway before abandoning the permit area. Text has been
added to the permit to address the primary spillway.
4. (new) Constructiou of permanent drainageer and pond mod cations are key parts of the final reclamation plan.
Previously the Division bas calculated the reclamation -cost e timat~r the site. Would you like the Division to
calculate costr far these two reclamation lark r or would EFMC like to submit an estimate for these tasks for Division
review. Please let us know.
Re once: Please calculate the bond amount and EFCI will review and commen[ before final approval.
5. (new) Removal of WSD#5 will increase, flow to the sonth mine access road ditch. This ditch has been subject to erosion
even with WSD#5 inplace. Please ensure that any proposed channel lining far the south mine access road ditch is
adequate jot permanent flows.
Re once: The south mine access road ditch was re-analyzed with WSD#5 removed. The velocities within
the channel were determined to be greater than the erosive limit. Check dams will be added to the
channel to reduce velocities and manage erosion within the channel. The resulting revised permit pages
are attached. The SEDCAD analysis performed for this revision is also attached.
In addtion to the comments, EFCI is including with PR-4 revisions to address some of the erosional
problems noted in your last inspection report. In particular, EFCI is requesting that the existing contour
furrows on the east side of the refuse pile just above Post Mining Ditch 1 be replaced with contour
ditches which would divert overland Elow into Upper Post Mining Ditch 1. EFCI believes this will be a
much more effective method to control erosion in this area. The contour ditches were design to pass the
100-year, 24-hour event. In addition, EFCI veriEed that that Upper Post Mining Ditch 1 in it current
configuration could safel}' pass the increased peak discharge from the 100-yeaz, 24-hour event. Revised
pages and information is attached.
Should you or any other members of the Division have questions regarding this information, please
don't hesitate to contact me or Tom Leidich at (303 291-2166).
Sincerely,
ENERGY FUELS, INC
~_;;~- ~
{a, George Patterson
Mine Manager
