TASK 4 <br />• REMOVE ROAD SURFACING MATERIAL AND BACKFILL IN PIT <br />Material Volume <br />Approximately 11,500' of access and haul road, averaging 30' wide, with removal of 1' of <br />surfacing material. 12,800 cy (in-place) or 14,300 cy (loose assuming 12% swell). <br />Equipment and Productivity <br />Use a CAT 627E Tractor Scraper <br />Haul Distance -Approximately 3,000' average one-way at a flat grade (0%) and a rolling <br />resistance of 5% <br />Cycle Times -One-way haul time would be 1.65 min. (loaded) and 1.25 min. (empty). <br />Fixed cycle times (load, dump, and spread) would be approximately 1.0 min. Total cycle <br />time would be approximately 3.9 min. <br />Average Capacity -Approximately 14 cy (loose) <br />Productivity -Approximately 15.4 cycles/hr. or 215 cy (loose)/hr. Using an operating <br />factor of 0.83 (50 min. operation/scheduled hr.) results in an adjusted productivity of 179 <br />• cy (loose)/hr. <br />Equipment Hours and Cost <br />Road surfacing material removal would require 80 scraper hours to complete (10 days at <br />8 hrs. per day). <br />80 hours x ($136.35/hr.
