Based on experience gained during the operotion of
the present Brownwood Pit, materiels removed from this site will be used
in construction projects in the vicinities of Loveland, Ft. Collins, Greeley,
Windsor, Berthoud, Longmont end Estes Perk. Hauling operations will
utilize the major routes serving these eroes. These routes include, but are
not limited to, State Highway 402, I-25, U.S. 287, and U.S. 34. As this
operotion will essentially be en extension of, and not en addition to, the
existing mining operotion, it is anticipated that there will not be any
lncroese 1n troiflc over present levels.
As the prevailing uses in the area are agricultural end industrial and
6eceuse currently used dust, noise end pollution abatement procedures will
be continued during the mining of Brownwood •2, it is felt that dust end
noise will not be problem. The currently used procedures include, but are
not limited to, use of a paved haul rood, watering of unpaved haul routes on-
site, wet scrubber on the asphalt plant and positioning of equiptment es far
from the property boundaries as possible. Additionally, every effort will be
made to prevent or contain fuel and chemical leaks. Waste disposal will not
be allowed on the site.
All overburden and topsoil stockpiles trill have the slopes graded to a
mazimum slope af' 3H:1 V and seeded with the reclamation seed mu shown
is 6Yhibii li to prevent wind and water erosion.
