<br />EXHIBIT K -- CLIMATE <br /> <br />The climate information is included in the original permit document. Canon City, C~~lorado <br />climate data reflects a mountain foothills climate in a relatively arid region. The site is located <br />at the eastern entrance to the Royal Gorge of the Arkansas River, a site of moderate winter <br />temperatures, averaging in the 20's F. lows and moderate to high (into the 90's) in the summer <br />months, with a mean average temperature of 55 degrees F. Total annual precipitation is about <br />12", with a bi-modal precipitation cycle of late winter/early spring moister(March, A~~ril) and <br />late summer thunderstorm season (July, August). It is unusual to see more than 2" of <br />precipitation in any one month and relatively common to receive less than .50" over << span of <br />two or three months. The Canon City area experiences about 164 frost free days each year. <br />Agriculture is irrigation based for crop purposes and native vegetative establishment s sparse <br />and slow growing, geared to the low moisture conditions that are prevalent in the regon. <br />21 <br />
