Adequacy was reached on the
' Pasture Reference Area with fifteen samples.
Table A-3
' Empire Mine
0.5 square-meter Production Plots
' Summary of 2001 Sample Adequacy Calculations
Mean Field Computed
' "Wet" Weight Standard Actual Adequate
Area (grams) Deviation Sample Size Sample Size
' Pasture Reference Area 92.007 13.13 15 10.42
' The sample mean for herbaceous production values on the Pasture Reference Area is 832.94
pounds/acre. Perelutial grasses constitute the majority of herbaceous production with a relative
production value of 94.37 percent, followed by annual fortis and alfalfa a[ 4.90 percent and 0.54
' percent, respectively. Table A-4 summarizes the relative production for each vegetative life-
form sampled.
